It’s Saturday night, I get the text for my Live Soulara live tracking updates and come Sunday morning, I’m in my pyjamas, picking up a healthy box of fresh meals ready for the week ahead without even having to step outside. Let the week of meals begin!

Now, to the actual food. WOW – I was genuinely surprised at the variety of flavours, combinations and cuisines that Soulara’s options encompasses, not to mention that they have new meal seasonal meals too. The best thing, is that THEY ALL TASTE SO GOOD. Soulara has redefined my opinion of “microwave meals” – gone is the notion of bland + heavily processed + greasy lunches, but instead, I was blessed with a week of guilt-free and healthy eating from a plant-based meal plan. There is an excellent combination of healthy carbohydrates, such as quinoa or brown rice, seasonal veggies like edamame, carrot and cauliflower, and of course, deliciously satisfying plant-based proteins such as tofu and tempeh.

And favourites? Definitely difficult to pick only a few but here are some of my personal recommendations (to be honest I would happily re-order any of the meals I chose):

Luminous Laksa: a steaming coconut and creamy laksa broth with generous rice noodles, tofu and broccoli

Roje Maiden’s Soba: a minimalistic soba noodle with delicious hints of garlic and sesame oil, not to mention a very healthy serving of fresh veggies like kale, baby corn and purple cabbage – takes me on a trip to Japan!

Soya, Edamame and Black Fungi Udon: back again with a Japanese dish – I looved the smooth texture of the udon, and as an endless mushroom lover, the flavours of the shiitake mushrooms and black fungi were so earthy

Chilli Sin Carne: a high protein dish filled with kidney beans, black beans and quinoa, I loved the zesty spicy flavours of this with its blend of tomato, cumin and lemon in the accompanying sauce
