NODO DONUTS, CBD: A delightful little corner café just on the fringes of the Brisbane CBD, they have a variety of different vegan desserts, especially donuts, as well as a very healthy brunch menu with delicious smoothies and hot drinks available. I love the refreshing sunlight that beams through the windows and the clean, bright interior. Overall, a lovely area for a healthy and vegan breakfast/lunch options and the flavours of the donuts themselves are tasty but not spectacular.
Chocolate Donut – $6.0

Chocolate for breakfast! Chocolate donut + Hot Chocolate 🙂
The good fat: Very happy with the balance of flavours in the donut as it wasn’t overly sweet or chocolatey. The donut itself was quite light and fluffy and quite a tasty option as a light breakfast or snack on the go!
The bad fat: Tasted quite simple, similar to a chocolate mud cake you get from the supermarket so it was slightly bland and doughy in terms of texture.

Mushroom Burger (Quinoa Bun, Activated Black Charcoal Mushroom, Kale, Romesco, Caramelised Onion, Rosemary Garlic Cashew Cream) – $16.0

Look how huge and fat that mushroom patty is!
The good fat: The mushroom patty was deliciously fat and flavoursome – especially for mushroom lovers, there were huge, tasty pieces towards the middle and the patty had a great crunch surrounding the outside. The onion and kale gave a fresh crunch and the cashew cream underneath provided an interesting dimension of a slightly spicy flavour (kind of like kimchi). Delicious and filling breakfast!
The bad fat: The mushroom patty can get quite strong and it would’ve been better to be offset but some sort of subtler sauce just pulling it back a bit – but of course that’s not a problem for avid mushroom lovers!
